On June 2nd, a homage to Ayrton Senna will go live on “Angry Birds Go!”, one of the biggest hits of the world in smartphone and tablet gaming. The user only needs to update the game to access “Senna Bird”, the fastest character in the game. Any player who wins 41 races – the same number of victories Senna obtained in his F1 career – will unlock the driver’s iconic green and yellow helmet.
The game was created by Rovio, the Finn company that established a partnership with the Ayrton Senna Institute, last March, in honor of the three-time F1 world champion’s 55 years.
“Having one of the best drivers in Formula One history as an honorary member of the Angry Brids family is an exciting milestone for ‘Angry Birds Go!’. It’s a pleasure to work with the Institute in this amazing partnership!”, says Wilhelm Taht, Rovio’s Head of External Products. “As we announced in March, Angry Birds fans can expect even more gifts to celebrate our great idol in 2015. Ayrton Senna will keep on being very special in the lives of Brazilians”, says Fernando Vasconez, Business Development at Rovio.
“The partnership is amazing because it allows a new generation to discover Ayrton Senna. We know that ‘Angry Birds Go!’ is played by people of all ages. For those who saw him race, it’s a way of remembering all those exciting Sunday mornings. For the younger ones, it’s a way of having fun and finding inspiration in our idol”, adds Bianca Senna, Branding Director at the Ayrton Senna Institute.
“Angry Birds Go!” was already downloaded more than 130 million times and features a party mode, in which two players can go head to head, each on their own device (smartphone or tablet), connected via Wi-Fi. Challenge your friends and feel the rush.
