Ayrton Senna raced for the last time, at Imola, exactly 20 years ago today. And May 1st is being marked by several homages and tributes to our unforgettable three-time F-1 world champion.

IMOLA
At Autodromo Enzo e Dino Ferrari, fans from all over the world attended the “Ayrton Senna Tribute 1994/2014” event, which started yesterday, in Italy.

SENNA EXPERIENCE
In 2014, we’ve established another communication channel, with the new official website. And, today a new area makes its debut. The visitor now has an interactive space to share their special recollections of Ayrton Senna.

YOUTUBE AND FACEBOOK
The Brazilian driver’s fans have also showed their love through the internet, by liking Senna’s Facebook page more than three million times and watching the “Ayrton Senna – 20 Years” video more than one million times.

SENNA ON TV
Our unforgettable champion’s story was also the subject of several documentaries made by Brazilian TV networks, this year. Next Sunday, May 3rd, Rede Globo airs the fourth and final part of an Ayrton Senna special, featuring interview with drivers, journalists and celebrities about one of the country’s greatest idols ever.

SBT also produced a news special about Senna and TV Cultura reran, last month, Senna’s famous interview on the Roda Viva show, originally aired at the end of 1986. Sports channels Fox Sports and SporTV have also announced an special schedule for May 1st, with programs about Ayrton Senna.

CARNIVAL
2014 has been marked by tributes from every segment of society, including another icon of Brazilian culture: the Carnival. Unidos da Tijuca samba school won Rio de Janeiro’s contest with the theme “Acelera, Tijuca!” (“Step on It, Tijuca!”), a touching retelling of Senna’s trajectory, in March.

SENNA IN THE SKIES
Another tribute to Senna is cruising Brazilian skies since yesterday. The colors of the driver’s helmet, made famous by his conquests, now adorn an Azul Airlines aircraft that has been surprising passengers with the beautiful homage to our champion.

EXHIBITS
On the ground, there’s another tribute Worth highlighting: the “Senna Emotion” exhibit at Ribeirão Preto’s Shopping Iguatemi, in the state of São Paulo. The exhibit will later be taken to seven other malls.

SENNA IN COMICS
Senna’s fans will be able to see another beautiful tribute to our champion in the form of a comic book. The graphic novel “Ayrton Senna, a Trajetória de um Mito” is already out. Created by three European artists – Froissart, Papazoglakis and Paquet – it’s a world-wide release, brought to Brazil by Editora Nemo, in partnership with the Ayrton Senna Institute.
