Senna Shop is a highlight at Silverstone
The Senna Shop, the official store for products of the three-time F1 champion, was at the British GP, with four shops spread out over the Silverstone raceway. The two cars displayed were the greatest attraction to the public in attendance: an original McLaren driven by Ayrton Senna in the 1993 season and a replica of the 1987 Lotus.
During the weekend, the Ayrton Senna Shop had four different points of sale. Besides a tent with several product lines, there was also a space containing just McLaren merchandise and other with just Lotus items. F1 fans were also able to visit the truck, painted in the iconic colors of Ayrton Senna’s helmet. The inner part of the wagon was equipped with all of the store’s collections.
At the Paddock Club, where celebrities and guests circulated, there were live-painting sessions of pictures in honor of Senna. The paintings made by Armin Flossdorf were auctioned, and the revenue will go to the Ayrton Senna Institute.
“It was the first time the Ayrton Senna Shop had an original McLaren race car being displayed at a Grand Prix. The partnerships we’ve established at Silverstone were a great honor, since it’s a place where Ayrton made history”, said Bárbara Robles, the brand’s licensing manager.
At the beginning of the week of the British GP, the Ayrton Senna Shop was in Woking, at the McLaren headquarters, for the launch of an Ayrton Senna-McLaren cobranded product line, with Bruno Senna – Ayrton’s nephew – in attendance. The line features t-shirts, caps, key-chains, jackets, shirts, stickers, accessories and other items that should arrive in Brazil sometime this semester.
