The Monaco GP weekend is traditionally the stage for remembering the great achievements of Ayrton Senna, the three-time Formula 1 World Champion. The greatest winner in the history of such race with six victories (1987, 1989, 1990, 1991, 1992 and 1993), Senna received several tributes in the Principality.

Besides the highlighting of Senna’s trademark, which will be a permanent tribute on the McLaren team cars, the Brazilian idol was also represented on the helmets of two Brazilian drivers who raced in Monte Carlo last weekend: Felipe Drugovich and Gabriel Bortoleto.

Drugovich won the Formula 2 Feature Race and currently leads the championship of the access category for F1. Its helmet design mixes several iconic features of Monaco and in the central part is Ayrton Senna celebrating his sixth and last victory in the Principality inside the McLaren car, with his right arm raised.

After getting out of the car, the young driver from Paraná celebrated by pointing to the part of the helmet where Senna is represented, remembering with affection his idol from the track.

Another very special tribute happened in the Formula Regional European Championship by Alpine (FRECA), in which Gabriel Bortoleto also illustrated the painting of his helmet with Ayrton Senna inside a McLaren, this time with the car of Monaco GP 1989, when the Brazilian driver won in the Principality for the second time, the first time with the Woking team.

Gabriel Bortoleto

The design illustrates Ayrton Senna driving on the iconic lower speed section of the track, the current Fairmont corner, where one of the most luxurious hotels of the Principality is located. Bortoleto managed a top-5 and a sixth place in the weekend’s races in Monaco.
