This March 21, when Ayrton Senna would be turning 56, the Institute that bears his name offers a gift to thousands of the driver’s fans worldwide. A new website – both in English and Portuguese – will cover the three-time world champion’s career in an unusual way: one historical piece of news for each day of the year, from January 1 to December 31.

So, when entering the hotsite, the user will learn a relevant fact about the driver on the day of its anniversary, as well as get access to stories published in local and foreign newspapers, pictures and statements by Senna.  The same is true for any special occasion in their own life – fans will be taken back to the exact date in which they also experienced something great as Senna supporters. Take March 24, for instance: it was the first time Senna won a Brazilian GP, exactly 25 years before.

The site features 365 pieces of news and trivia, carefully selected by a team of journalists to celebrate Ayrton Senna’s birthday in 2016. The hotsite’s address is localhost/memorias/en/ . The content will also be shared by the driver’s official social media profiles, which are run by Ayrton Senna Institute on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram.

“March 21 is always a special day for all of us, and I’m sure this website will be an amazing gift to fans”, says Bianca Senna, the Ayrton Senna Institute’s branding director and the driver’s niece. “The biggest challenge was to find content about the Formula One off-season, the months of January, February and December.  It took an intense research effort by the journalists in our team, with the Memorial’s invaluable help”, says Bianca, mentioning the area in charge of preserving Senna’s archive, including news clippings about his career.

The research effort was undertaken by RF1 Journalism and the hotsite was developed by MKT Virtual.
