The several homages in honor of Ayrton Senna over the last few days in Monaco have been covered by the press both in Brazil and abroad. Exactly 30 years ago, on May 31st 1987, Senna drove the famous yellow Lotus to his first win on the streets of the Principality – it was also the first time a Brazilian driver took home the most important trophy in the F1 calendar.

That initial triumph cleared the way for a six-win streak by the driver in Monte Carlo, a record set in 1993 and that remains unbroken to this day.
