With several attractions and homages to Ayrton Senna, the Senna Day Festival, which honors the greatest Brazilian idol, takes place on May 1st at the Interlagos Raceway; Senna Day will be a sports, music and speed festival, providing a day of unforgettable experiences to the whole family.

In celebration of the 25th anniversary of the legacy left by F1 driver Ayrton Senna, the Ayrton Senna Institute presents the Senna Day Festival. The event, which takes place on May 1st, will rock the Interlagos Raceway, in São Paulo, Brazil, with musical attractions, motor racing, and sports, besides fantastic experiences for the whole family.

Senna Day will start early, at 8 AM, with several physical activities involving running and walking. The event will also feature musical attractions, DJs and an exhibit with personal items from Ayrton Senna’s career, like racing suits, trophies and helmets. Go-kart races with invited drivers and celebrities will also take place at the karting track, besides a special schedule aimed at children, including a short race on foot. A food court will also be available throughout the event at Interlagos.

One of the main attractions on Senna Day will be the McLaren Senna. The car will take exhibition laps on the track with two great Brazilian drivers at the wheel: Sérgio Sette Câmara and Cacá Bueno. The McLaren Senna is the first car under the SENNA brand – a street car with racing DNA. The connection between Senna and McLaren runs deep: Ayrton won three F1 world title for the team (1988, 1990 and 1991).

The event on May 1st also marks the opening of the first Open-Air Museum about Senna’s career in Formula One, which will feature 11 steel statues designed by artist Rafael Sanches. They were sculpted in 2016, in celebration of the 25th anniversary of Senna’s third world title, and installed in several places in São Paulo. Three years later, the statues will be displayed together for the first time at the Interlagos Raceway, where they will be staying permanently.

The duo’s music is influenced by several different sources, transmitting energy and connecting the audience to memorable moments.

Another highlight of the festival is lyrical singer Carmen Monarcha, who’s been representing Brazil in foreign stages for 15 years, touring with Andre Rieu and his Orchesta and singing at the biggest Brazilian and Latin-American music festivals. Carmen will take to the stage alongside Claus and Vanessa, an up-and-coming Brazilian duo who won the 2018 Focus Brasil Award for Best Band in Orlando, Florida.
