Expectations were high when Ayrton Senna joined Williams in 1994. Finally, the great idol of the category in the early 1990s had signed with the team that had the best car in the competition.

There were three pole positions in the first three stages of the season, but Ayrton Senna’s accident at Imola during the 1994 San Marino Grand Prix completely changed the course of the competition.

Since then, May 1st has never been the same. The date continues to be remembered with tributes to Senna, who is honored by people all over the world.
